Seven Sisters

With the Seven Sisters, I have tried to convey a different feeling, or struggle with each sculpture.  Which in many ways can also be interpreted as different stages of life.  The vessel its self, takes on a meaning in its own way, particularly depending on what the figure is doing.  For example, some figures are trying to control, while others might be content.  Because of this, the vessel ends up representing an obstacle or life circumstance.  As women move through life, their inner perception of themselves changes, and morphs with these challenges.

I have found it very meaningful to be able to express my personal experiences in this series, and have felt rewarded by other’s reactions to it.  The energy of new thoughts and ideas that have come from this work have inspired me to keep going.
